Webinaire: Espaces d'Habitation à Tio'tià:ke/l’île de Montréal
Comment favoriser l’accès à des logements abordables, sécuritaires, accessibles et culturellement adaptés ?
Webinar: Housing In Tio'tià:ke/Montreal island
Fall (date to be announced)
How can we ensure that everyone has access to affordable, safe, accessible and culturally appropriate housing?
Access to healthy, safe, appropriate, and affordable housing is a basic need. The last few months have reminded us that access to housing is essential not only to isolate in order to prevent spread of the virus, but also to work and study remotely. In order to respond to the housing needs of Montreal’s women and to fight homelessness and gender-based violence, women’s groups are building and managing shelters, transitional housing, and permanent housing solutions.
The webinar will open with a panel that will introduce projects which will allow women who live at the intersection of multiple oppressions to find stable housing, as well as their strategies for increasing accessibility and inclusion for all women and their ideas for offering healthy and safe living situations. The panel will be followed by a discussion workshop to identify the main obstacles, opportunities for demands and actions to be taken as feminists for a more inclusive city.
