"In a city like Montreal, 93.8% of girls have experienced harassment in public spaces or on public transit." These shocking words open the interactive video recently published by the Centre d'éducation et d'action des femmes (CÉAF). It's important that bystanders be given the tools they need to intervene, as Le Devoir reported. If you're on the bus and see a man who won't take a girl's no for an answer… what can you do? Start a conversation with the girl as if you knew her, ask the man an inoffensive question to throw him off, or tell him clearly that he's harassing someone? As the video explains, all of these responses are good because the most important thing is to act―as long as you’re in a context where it's safe to do so.

The video accompanies a poster campaign launched in October 2019 that aims to stamp out street harassment, especially on public transportation.
