In autumn 1996, a temporary coordinating committee called more than 200 groups to a General Assembly on October 24, 1996. Seventy-five of those groups met and adopted the objectives, operational structure and first work plan of the Table des groupes de femmes de Montréal. We celebrated this event throughout the year, with special enthusiasm in October 2016, by paying homage to our members and by speaking loudly and clearly about the importance of feminism in Montreal today.
